NextOBD Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains how NextOBD handles information on its early-access website. The product demonstration is illustrative, not a live diagnostic service.

1. Information we collect

When you join the early-access list, we collect your email address, optional user type, signup time, campaign information present in the page URL (UTM parameters), and the version of the signup notice displayed when you registered. We also record that the signup came from the landing page. Please do not include personal information in campaign links.

The waitlist does not ask for a password, phone number or vehicle details. We may temporarily process IP addresses and related request information for security, fraud prevention, and abuse prevention. Our hosting, network and security providers may process and retain limited technical request information for security, reliability and abuse prevention.

The separate diagnostic demo saves your entered vehicle details in this browser tab's sessionStorage. The draft survives page reloads and may be restored by your browser's session-recovery features. We do not send demo entries to our server, Supabase or an analytics provider. Clear entries clears the form and removes this tab's saved draft. If your browser prevents removal, the demo displays a warning.

2. How we use information

We use waitlist information to manage early access, send occasional NextOBD updates and beta invitations, understand product interest and outreach channels, and operate, secure and improve this website. We do not sell waitlist information.

3. Email communications

If you join the early-access list, we may send you NextOBD product updates, launch announcements, beta invitations, and related communications. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in those messages or by contacting us.

4. Service providers

We use third-party service providers to operate the NextOBD early-access website.

GitHub Pages hosts the public website. GitHub logs visitor IP addresses for security and may process other technical request information to operate its hosting service.

Cloudflare provides DNS and, where enabled, content delivery, performance and security services. When website requests pass through Cloudflare, it may process information such as IP addresses, requested URLs, timestamps and security-related information to deliver and protect the website.

Supabase hosts and processes early-access waitlist information on our behalf.

We may also use service providers for email delivery, security and similar operational services.

5. Analytics and tracking

We do not currently use Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel or Google Analytics on the NextOBD website.

The diagnostic demo does not send your entered vehicle details or other demo entries to Supabase or advertising platforms. Demo state is stored locally in your browser as described above.

Our hosting, network and security providers may process limited technical traffic information as described in the Service Providers section.

Campaign information in signup links, such as UTM parameters, is sent with your signup so we can understand which outreach channels bring interest.

We do not currently use the NextOBD website for cross-site behavioral advertising.

We will update this policy if our analytics or advertising practices materially change.

6. Data retention

We retain early-access information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the waitlist, communicate about NextOBD and fulfill legitimate business needs, unless a longer period is required by law. You can contact us to request deletion of your information.

7. Data security

We use technical safeguards to restrict access to personal information and help prevent abuse. No system or transmission can guarantee absolute security.

8. Your choices

You may choose not to join, leave the user-type field blank, unsubscribe from marketing communications, or contact NextOBD about access, correction or deletion of your information where applicable. To protect your information, we may need to verify that a request comes from you.

9. Children

NextOBD's early-access service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly seek their personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. The Last updated date will reflect changes.
